EMPHASIS: Results Of "Click It Or Ticket" And Construction Zone Enforcement Operations Conducted In Troop E During May 2008



Captain George E. Ridens, commanding officer of Troop E, announces the results of “Click It Or Ticket” and construction zone enforcement operations conducted by Troop E officers during the month of May.
During the “Click It Or Ticket” enforcement campaign, Troop E officers stopped 441 cars, issuing 260 citations, 180 warnings, and making one other arrest. Troopers drove a total of 4,832 miles during this project in Scott and Stoddard counties, which was conducted from May 19, 2008 through June 1, 2008.
Troop E officers also conducted several construction zone enforcement operations in the troop. During the month of May, officers stopped a total of 505 vehicles, issuing 396 citations and 109 warnings, and making four other arrests.
“We will continue to enforce traffic and seat belt laws in an effort to save more lives in southeast Missouri,” said Captain Ridens. “Remember: It only takes three seconds to fasten your seat belt--the same amount of time it takes for a traffic crash to occur.”
