EMPHASIS: Sobriety Checkpoint Results

On March 19, 2011, a sobriety checkpoint was conducted in Clinton County. A total of 13 troopers were assigned to the four-hour operation.
Troopers arrested one driver for driving while intoxicated, made one misdemeanor warrant arrest, wrote one driver’s license violation, and issued two summonses for non-moving violations. Troopers also issued 27 warnings to motorists for minor violations. A total of 89 vehicles came into the checkpoint.
Captain Duane L. Robinson stated, “Impaired drivers are dangerous and put other motorists at risk for serious injury or death. The checkpoint is an important program to keep the highways safe for the motoring public.”
