EMPHASIS: Results Of DWI Saturation Conducted In Monroe And Ralls County

Captain James E. Wilt, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, announces the results of a DWI (driving while intoxicated) saturation conducted in Monroe and Ralls counties. The saturation was conducted from 10:00 p.m. on April 25, 2015, to 2:00 a.m. on April 26, 2015. During the enforcement operation, officers patrolled specific areas with a goal of detecting impaired drivers and other traffic violations that contribute to traffic crashes. As a result of the operation, officers made one arrest for driving while intoxicated and issued six traffic citations and 37 warnings. The following is a list of traffic citations issued:
3 - Citations were issued for exceeding the speed limit.
2 - Citations were issued for seat belt violations.
1 - Citation was issued for a non-moving violation.
"The Patrol will conduct more traffic enforcement programs in the upcoming months," stated Captain Wilt. "The Missouri State Highway Patrol is very serious about removing the impaired driver from our roadways. If drinking is a part of your plans, choose a sober designated driver."
In support of "The Drive To ZERO Highway Deaths," the Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Watercraft operators should ensure that everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life And Wear It!!
