EMPHASIS: Patrol To Conduct DWI Saturation and S.T.E.P. Project

Captain Michael A. Turner, commanding officer of Troop F, Jefferson City, announces that DWI saturations will be held in Cole and Boone counties sometime in the month of May.

DWI saturations are part of the Patrol’s efforts to remove careless and intoxicated drivers from Missouri’s highways, and are conducted in areas which have been found to experience a higher than normal number of alcohol-related contacts, hazardous driving contacts, and traffic crashes.

Troop F will also conduct a hazardous moving violations/selective traffic enforcement program in Miller County sometime in the month of May. The project will target hazardous moving violations to include driving while impaired, exceeding the speed limit, improper passing, and aggressive driving.

Captain Turner says, “Special enforcement projects are tools that the Missouri State Highway Patrol uses to enhance our efforts in removing unsafe drivers from our roadways. Please pay attention to the job of driving and if you choose to drink alcohol, designate a sober driver.”

In support of “The Drive To ZERO Highway Deaths,” the Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Watercraft operators should ensure that everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life And Wear It!!
