EMPHASIS: Troop C Announces Results Of "Operation A.R.R.E.S.T." In St. Louis County



Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer of Troop C, Weldon Spring, is pleased to announce the results of a recent enforcement detail “Operation A.R.R.E.S.T.” (Alcohol Related Response Enforcement Strike Team). The purpose of Operation A.R.R.E.S.T. is to increase the motoring public’s awareness of the hazards of operating a motor vehicle while in an intoxicated condition.

Operation A.R.R.E.S.T. was conducted from 7 p.m. on Friday, July 12, 2013, to 3 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2013, in St. Louis County. This eight-hour project was conducted by six officers, who focused their enforcement efforts on identifying hazardous motor vehicle operations.

10 -- seat belt summonses
2 -- following too close summonses
10 -- non-moving summonses
3 -- drug arrests
14 -- hazardous moving summonses
8 -- driver's license summonses
6--no proof of insurance summonses
62 -- warnings
65 -- total vehicles stopped

Captain Johnson stated, “Alcohol continues to be responsible for more than 27 percent of all fatal crashes on Missouri highways. Operation A.R.R.E.S.T. will assist in reducing the number of intoxicated drivers, traffic crashes, and fatalities that occur on our roadways.”

The Patrol encourages motorists and watercraft operators to protect themselves by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint and everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life and Wear It!!!
