A total of 29 arrests and 52 warnings were issued in conjunction with a sobriety checkpoint conducted in Howell County. The checkpoint was held from 10 p.m. on June 16, to 2 a.m. on June 17, 2007, at the intersection of U.S. Highway 63 and Missouri Route 17.
These totals include four misdemeanor driving while intoxicated arrests, four misdemeanor drug arrests, and one minor in possession arrest. Officers also made one misdemeanor criminal arrest, seven driver’s license arrests, five seat belt arrests, five non-moving arrests, and two uninsured motorist arrests.
“Intoxicated drivers create a hazard for everyone on the road,” said Capt. Chadwick. “Please don’t drink and drive, and always exercise the highest degree of care when you get behind the wheel.”
