EMPHASIS: Troop A Announces Promotions

Captain Eric T. Olson, commanding officer of Troop A, Lee's Summit, announces the following promotions for Troop A:

Effective October 1, 2014, Trooper David J. Kline was promoted to the rank of corporal and has transferred from Zone 4, Clay County, to Zone 5, serving Ray and Carroll Counties. He has been designated the assistant zone supervisor of Zone 5. Kline was appointed to the Patrol on January 6, 2008, as a member of the 87th Recruit Class. After graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop A, Lee's Summit, serving Zone 4, Clay County. Prior to joining the Patrol, Kline attended Moberly Area Community College, in Moberly, MO. He earned an associate's degree in general studies from Moberly Area Community College. Corporal Kline is married to Katelynne "Katy" (Meyer).

Effective October 1, 2014, Trooper Dennis D. Mathes was promoted to the rank of corporal and has been designated the assistant zone commander of Zone 10, serving Saline County. Mathes was appointed to the Patrol on July 1, 2009, as part of the 90th Recruit Class. After graduating from the Patrol's Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop A, Zone 10. Mathes was born in Kahoka, MO. He graduated from Clark County R-1 High School, in Kahoka, MO, in 1997. He earned an associate's degree in criminal justice from Mineral Area Community College in Park Hills, MO. Corporal Mathes is married to Jaclyn (Otte) and they are expecting their first child.
