EMPHASIS: Results Of Driving While Intoxicated Saturations Conducted In Troop B During The Month Of December 2011


Captain James E. Wilt, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, announces the results of two DWI saturations conducted in the Troop B area on December 16 and December 17, 2011.
On December 16, 2011, and December 17, 2011, DWI saturations were conducted throughout the Troop B area on each of these dates, from 11:00 p.m. that day to 3:00 a.m. the next day. The goals of these traffic enforcement programs were to detect intoxicated drivers, hazardous moving, driving over the speed limit, and other traffic violations that contribute to traffic crashes. As a result of the two operations, officers made 32 arrests and issued 43 warnings. The following is a list of enforcement contacts made during the saturations:

2-- Arrests for driving while intoxicated
8-- Summonses issued for speed
10-- Summonses issued for seat belt violations
1-- Summons issued for a hazardous moving violation
2-- Summonses issued for license violations
3-- Summonses issued for insurance violations
1-- Arrest for person under 21 years of age possessing an intoxicating beverage
2-- Arrests for misdemeanor drug violations
1-- Arrest for a misdemeanor warrant
1-- Arrest for a misdemeanor criminal offense
1-- Arrest for a felony drug violation

"The Missouri State Highway Patrol is very serious about removing impaired drivers from our roadways," stated Captain Wilt. "In the upcoming year, we will be conducting numerous special traffic enforcement programs in an effort to reduce traffic crashes."
