EMPHASIS: Troop H Residents Complete Community Alliance Program

Captain James E. McDonald, commanding officer Troop H, announces that Troop H has completed its 2014 Community Alliance Program. The five-week program ran from September 9, 2014, through October 7, and consisted of 15 participants.

The goal of the Community Alliance Program is to give Troop H residents a unique experience while being introduced to the duties of the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Some of the programs presented included the history of the Patrol, tools of the trade, marine operations, polygraph, firing range, and driving while intoxicated detection. Demonstrations by the K-9 unit, Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), and participation in simulated traffic stops highlighted the program. The final night consisted of dinner with the Troop H staff and the presentation of certificates. Troop H conducts the Community Alliance Program on a biennial basis. The next program is scheduled for the fall 2016.

In support of "The Drive To ZERO Highway Deaths," the Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Watercraft operators should ensure that everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life And Wear It!!
