EMPHASIS: Troop G Releases Thanksgiving Holiday Traffic Totals



Captain Dwayne F. Isringhausen, commanding officer, Troop G, Willow Springs, announces the following C.A.R.E. (Combined Accident Reduction Effort) traffic totals for the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend:
Troop G reported zero fatal traffic crashes, investigated two alcohol-related traffic crashes, and investigated 18 crashes on C.A.R.E. designated highways. Troopers made four DWI arrests, five drug arrests, and issued 377 citations for speed, 82 seat belt tickets, and four child restraint summonses. Additionally, officers issued 475 warnings and provided assistance to 160 motorists. Included in the above-listed totals were the following totals from the 20-Mile Trooper operation in which troopers patrolled a designated section of roadway:
152 -- speed summonses
22 -- seat belt summonses
4 -- other hazardous moving vehicle summonses
8 -- non-moving violation summonses
1 -- driver's license summons
3 -- uninsured motorist summonses
1 -- misdemeanor drug arrest
1 -- other misdemeanor arrest
192 -- warnings

Captain Isringhausen says, âWe were very pleased that Troop G did not experience any fatal collisions this Thanksgiving holiday weekend. As we approach the winter driving season, please plan ahead when traveling, donât drink and drive, and always wear your seat belt.â
