EMPHASIS: Patrol To Conduct Sobriety Checkpoint/DWI Saturation

Captain Billy E. Chadwick, commanding officer of Troop G, Willow Springs, announces that a sobriety checkpoint will be held in Howell County sometime in the month of December. The Missouri State Highway Patrol in cooperation with other area law enforcement agencies will conduct the checkpoint.

Sobriety checkpoints are part of the Patrol’s efforts to remove careless and intoxicated drivers from Missouri’s highways, and are conducted at various locations which have been found to experience a higher than normal number of alcohol-related contacts, hazardous driving contacts, and traffic crashes.

Troop G also will conduct a DWI Saturation in Texas County sometime in the month of December. The project will target DWI enforcement along with other hazardous moving and alcohol-related offenses.

Captain Chadwick says, “The use of sobriety checkpoints and DWI saturations enable the Missouri State Highway Patrol to enhance our efforts in removing drugged and intoxicated drivers from our roadways. Please, never drink and drive.”
