EMPHASIS: Missouri Rural Major Case Squad Activated


The Missouri Rural Major Case Squad is being activated to conduct a homicide investigation, in which a body was located in Lafayette County on May 28, 2008. The body was that of Monteze E. Murrell, 28, of Raytown, Missouri. The Raytown Police Department originally took a missing persons report, but their investigation was closed when Mr. Murrell’s body was located and later identified in rural Lafayette County. His death was determined to be a homicide.
The Patrol is asking the public for assistance with this investigation. If anyone has any information about Mr. Murrell’s death, they are asked to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477), the investigators with the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control at 816-622-0800, or the detective unit with the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department at 660-259-3392.
