EMPHASIS: Sunrise Beach Man Arrested For Possession Of Child Pornography And Methamphetamine

The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control announces the arrest of Richard E. Brown, 35, of Sunrise Beach, Missouri, for promoting child pornography along with possession of child pornography and methamphetamine, on April 12, 2016. The arrest was the result of a lengthy investigation conducted by members of the Division of Drug and Crime Control’s Digital Forensics Investigative Unit.

On Tuesday, investigators served a search warrant at Brown’s residence located on the 200 block of Deep Water Drive, near Sunrise Beach. As a result of the search, investigators located child pornography and methamphetamine. Brown was arrested and transported to the Camden County Jail.

The Camden County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office formally charged Brown with one count of promoting child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography ─ 2nd offense. Brown is being held without bond at the Camden County Jail. The Patrol was assisted by deputies of the Camden County Sheriff’s Office.

The above arrest is mere accusation and is not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of this charge must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
