EMPHASIS: Troop D Promotion And Transfer


Captain Juan Villanueva, commanding officer of Troop D, is pleased to announce the following promotion and transfer.

On February 1, 2012, Trooper Kenneth R. Sanders was promoted to the rank of corporal and designated assistant zone supervisor for Zone 15, serving the citizens of Stone and Taney counties. Sanders was appointed to the Patrol on October 20, 2002. Following graduation from the Patrol Academy, he was assigned to Bates County in Troop A. On September 1, 2006, he transferred to Troop D and was assigned to Zone 7, Newton and McDonald counties. A native of Neosho, Missouri, Sanders graduated from Neosho High School in 1995, and later attended Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, Missouri. Prior to his appointment to the Patrol, he was employed by Eagle-Picher Industries in Joplin. Corporal Sanders and his wife, Amanda (McGinnis), are the proud parents of three sons, Kyle, Keaton, and Kolton. He is the son of James and Patricia Sanders, of Neosho.

Effective February 1, 2012, Corporal Mark C. Mason transferred from Zone 15, Stone and Taney counties, to Zone 20, Marine Operations. Mason was born in Searcy, Arkansas, and graduated in 1988, from Burlington High School, Burlington, Kansas. He attended Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas, and graduated in 1992 with a bachelor’s degree in sociology. He also served in the Kansas National Guard from 1992 until 1998, attaining the rank of sergeant. Mason was appointed to the Patrol in 1994 and assigned to Troop D. Corporal Mason is the father of two sons, Bryce and Brett.
