EMPHASIS: Results Of DWI Saturation Conducted In Troop B

Captain James E. Wilt, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, announces the results of a DWI (driving while intoxicated) saturation conducted in various counties in the Troop B area. The saturation began at 11 p.m., on November 10, 2012, and concluded at 3 a.m. on November 11, 2012. During this enforcement operation, officers patrolled areas throughout the Troop B area with a goal of detecting impaired drivers and other traffic violations that contribute to traffic crashes. As a result of the operation, officers made nine arrests and issued 37 warnings. The following is a list of enforcement contacts made during the saturation:

2-- Arrests for driving while intoxicated
1-- Citation was issued for speed
1-- Citation was issued for careless and imprudent driving
1-- Citation was issued for a non-moving violation
1-- Citation was issued for an insurance violation
3-- Arrests were made for person under 21 years of age possessing an intoxicating beverage

“Drinking and driving is very dangerous,” stated Captain Wilt. “The Missouri State Highway Patrol is very serious about removing the impaired driver from our roadways. If drinking is a part of your plans, choose a sober designated driver.”

The Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves from all types of hazardous drivers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Click it 4 Life!
