EMPHASIS: Death Investigation -- September 2014 -- Body Discovered Floating Near 11-Mile Marker

The ongoing investigation by the Missouri State Highway Patrol's Division of Drug and Crime Control and the Camden County Sheriff's Office into the death of David O. Martin, 55, of Kaiser, Missouri, whose body was found floating in the Niangua Arm of the Lake of the Ozarks on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 is still underway. An autopsy conducted on September 18 revealed that Mr. Martin sustained extensive internal injuries, consistent with a fall from a significant height. It is believed that injuries sustained from the fall ultimately resulted in him drowning. Toxicology reports are still pending. There are no indications of foul play at this time. The investigation is continuing and no additional information is available at this time.
