EMPHASIS: Narcotics Investigation
Captain Luke Vislay, director of the Division of Drug and Crime Control, announces the results of joint undercover narcotics investigation involving the South Central Drug Task Force, Rolla Police Department, United States Forest Service, Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Over the course of approximately seven months, undercover operatives with South Central Drug Task Force were able to conduct a series of covert narcotics investigations involving the distribution/sales of methamphetamine, cocaine, marijuana, ecstasy, and prescription medication.
The investigation involved 26 loosely affiliated individuals in and around the Phelps County, Missouri, area and arrest warrants for each defendant were obtained through the Phelps County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office prior to the mass arrest operation.
At 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 26, 2007, members of South Central Drug Task Force, in coordination with Rolla Police Department, United States Forest Service, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol, began the early morning round up. A total of 18 individuals were arrested in connection with this investigation, those arrested were transported, processed, and held at the Phelps County Jail for bond. Law enforcement officials are currently seeking the remaining eight suspects.

It is through the cooperative efforts of all agencies involved that this investigation was brought to a successful conclusion. The above charges are mere accusation and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of these charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
