EMPHASIS: Results of Sobriety Checkpoint Conducted In Atchison County


Captain James E. McDonald, commanding officer Troop H, St. Joseph, announces the results of a sobriety checkpoint in Atchison County. The checkpoint was held from 10 p.m. on May 10, 2014, to 2 a.m. on May 11, 2014. As a result of this operation officers issued four citations and seven warnings. The following is a list of enforcement contacts as a result of the checkpoint:

1--Driving while intoxicated arrest.
1--Citation for a non-moving violation.
1--Citation for no driver’s license.
1--Citation for failure to wear seat belt.

“Removing intoxicated drivers from Missouri roadways is one of our highest priorities,” states Captain McDonald. “If your plans include consuming alcohol, have a designated driver."

In support of "The Drive To ZERO Highway Deaths," the Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Watercraft operators should ensure that everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life And Wear It!!
