EMPHASIS: Results Of DWI Enforcement Programs Conducted In Troop B During The Month Of November 2014


Captain James E. Wilt, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, announces the results of DWI (driving while intoxicated) saturations conducted throughout the Troop B area on November 14 & 15, 2014, and in Randolph and Macon counties on November 26, 2014. The saturations were held from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m. on each date. During these enforcement operations, officers patrolled specific areas with a goal of detecting impaired drivers and other traffic violations that contribute to traffic crashes. As a result of the operations, officers made nine arrests, and issued 24 traffic citations and 112 warnings. The following is a list of enforcement contacts made during the saturations:

4 -- Arrests for driving while intoxicated.
1 -- Arrest for a misdemeanor drug violation.
2 -- Arrests for misdemeanor warrants.
1 -- Arrest for criminal misdemeanor.
1 -- Arrest for person under 21 years of age possessing intoxicating liquor.
4 -- Citations were issued for exceeding the speed limit.
7 -- Citations were issued for seat belt violations.
1 -- Citation was issued for following too close.
1 -- Citation was issued for a stop sign violation.
3 -- Citations were issued for non-moving violations.
4 -- Citations were issued for driver's license violations.
4 -- Citations were issued for insurance violations.


"The Patrol will conduct more traffic enforcement programs in the upcoming months," stated Captain Wilt. "The Missouri State Highway Patrol is very serious about removing the impaired driver from our roadways. If drinking is a part of your plans, choose a sober designated driver."
In support of "The Drive To ZERO Highway Deaths," the Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Watercraft operators should ensure that everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life And Wear It!!
