EMPHASIS:
Blood Drive To Be Held At Troop B Headquarters In Memory Of Corporal Webster
Captain James E. Wilt, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, would like to invite the public to participate in the "Red Cross, Troop B Michael E. Webster Blood Drive" on Friday, September 30, 2016. The blood drive will be held at the Troop B Headquarters located at 308 Pine Crest Drive, Macon, Missouri. The drive will begin at 10 a.m. and conclude at 2 p.m.
On October 2, 1993, Corporal Michael E. Webster was killed in the line of duty by a drunk driver while standing next to a vehicle he had stopped for a traffic violation. Since his untimely death, blood drives like this one have honored his service to the community. The Webster family, Missouri State Highway Patrol, and the American Red Cross want to encourage everyone to come out and support the Corporal Michael E. Webster blood drive.
Someone is killed or injured in an alcohol-related crash every two hours in Missouri. Alcohol was involved in 30% of all fatal crashes during 2014. Drunk drivers killed 205 people and injured 3,372 in Missouri traffic crashes last year. Blood is an essential element, which may help save someone’s life that has been involved in a traffic crash.
For questions, please contact Sergeant Brent Bernhardt at (660) 385-2132 or go to www.redcrossblood.org.
The only 100 percent survivable traffic crash is the one that never happens. Make sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Every day as we travel on Missouri’s roadways, we trust that every driver on the road is going to obey the speed limit, pay attention, and drive sober.
“Don’t Violate The Trust.”
