EMPHASIS: Troop G Releases Labor Day Holiday Totals

Captain Mark G. Inman, commanding officer, Troop G, Willow Springs, announces the following traffic totals for the Labor Day holiday period. Troop G troopers participated in Operation C.A.R.E. (Combined Accident Reduction Effort) from Friday, August 29, 2014, through Monday, September 1, 2014.
Troop G reported 18 traffic crashes, which resulted in nine injuries and one fatality over the holiday weekend. Troopers arrested nine people for driving while intoxicated. During Operation C.A.R.E., troopers made 30 drug arrests, and issued 296 speed summonses, 72 safety belt summonses, and five child restraint summonses, and answered 179 calls for service in Troop G.
Troop G troopers working on U.S. Highway 60 also participated in the 20-Mile Trooper project. Troopers assigned to this operation worked 12-hour shifts to patrol 20-mile intervals on major highways and interstates in Missouri on Friday, August 29, 2014, and Monday, September 1, 2014. There were zero fatal traffic crashes on highways covered by the 20-Mile Trooper project. Totals from the 20-Mile Trooper project include:

10-- seat belt summonses
2-- other hazardous moving vehicle summonses
14-- nonmoving summonses
2-- driver’s license summonses
2-- uninsured motorist summonses
1-- stop sign summons
4-- misdemeanor warrant arrests
1-- felony warrant arrest
6-- drug arrests
127-- warnings
Captain Inman says, “We are always sorry when we experience a fatal crash in Troop G, as we did this holiday weekend. Please exercise the highest degree of care behind the wheel and always wear your seat belt.”
In support of “The Drive To ZERO Highway Deaths,” the Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Watercraft operators should ensure that everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life And Wear It!!
