EMPHASIS: Troop A Promotion

Captain Robert L. Powell, commanding officer of Troop A, is pleased to announce the following Troop A promotion effective December 1, 2008:
Corporal Brian S. Hagerty, of Odessa, Missouri, was promoted to the rank of sergeant and will maintain his current position as supervisor of the Criminal Interdiction Unit. Hagerty was appointed to the Patrol in July 1994, as a member of the 67th Recruit Class. After graduation, Hagerty was assigned to Troop A, Lee’s Summit, serving Saline County. In May 1998, Hagerty transferred to Troop A’s Criminal Interdiction Unit. In July 1999, Hagerty was promoted to the rank of corporal and remained in his current position. Prior to joining the Patrol, Hagerty graduated from Southern Illinois University - Carbondale with a bachelor’s of science degree. Hagerty worked for Toys R Us before joining the Highway Patrol.
Sergeant Hagerty and his wife, Rebekah, currently reside in Odessa, Missouri, with their children; Logan, 8, and Peyton, 5.
