EMPHASIS: Patrol To Issue Honorary Trooper Certificate


Captain Dale A. Schmidt, commanding officer, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Troop F, Jefferson City, MO, invites the media to attend a presentation on Thursday, May 20, 2010, honoring a Columbia firefighter for his assistance with an unconscious MoDOT worker. The ceremony will begin at 9:00 a.m. at Troop F Headquarters, 2920 N. Shamrock Road, in Jefferson City.
Michael Holz, of Columbia, MO, will be presented an “Honorary Trooper” certificate for assisting troopers with CPR on an unconscious MoDOT employee who collapsed in the median. Mr. Holz was travelling on Interstate 70 in Montgomery County when he observed troopers performing CPR on the subject. Mr. Holz stopped his vehicle and was able to assist with CPR until paramedics arrived.
Captain Schmidt stated, “Mr. Holz very likely helped save a life. He went out of his way by stopping his vehicle and aiding someone in need. He should be honored for his heroic actions.”
