EMPHASIS: Results Of Sobriety Checkpoint In St. Charles County

Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer of Troop C, Weldon Spring, announces the results of a sobriety checkpoint conducted on Saturday evening, July 9, 2011, in St. Charles County. During the five-hour operation, a total of 455 vehicles were checked with a total of 9 arrests being made and 25 warnings being issued. Of those, one summons was written for a driver license violation and two subjects were arrested for minor in possession of alcohol. In addition, six subjects were arrested for DWI.

"The results of this checkpoint could not have been better." said Captain Johnson. "We took six more intoxicated drivers off the road during this checkpoint, which possibly saved lives.”
