EMPHASIS: Results Of Selected Traffic Enforcement Operation Held In Adair County On March 17, 2010
Captain John W. Elliott, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, announces the results of a Selected Traffic Enforcement Operation conducted in Adair County by Troop B officers.
From 10:00 p.m. on March 17, 2010, to 2:00 a.m. on March 18, 2010, three Troop B officers focused their attention to highways located in Adair County, with a goal of detecting impaired drivers and other hazardous moving violations that contribute to traffic crashes. As a result of the operation a total of 15 arrests were made and 22 warnings were issued. The following is a list of enforcement contacts during the operation:
3 -- arrests for driving while intoxicated
1 -- summons for speed
4 -- summonses for seat belt violations
1 -- summons for a stop sign violation
1 -- summons for a driver’s license violation
3 -- arrests for person under 21 years of age possessing intoxicating beverages
1 -- misdemeanor warrant arrest
1 -- criminal misdemeanor arrest
“Driving while intoxicated continues to be a major contributing factor of traffic crashes in Missouri,” stated Captain Elliott. “Troop B officers will be conducting many similar enforcement operations during the upcoming year. If you plan on drinking intoxicating beverages always use a sober, designated driver.”
