EMPHASIS: Browning Resident Arrested For First Degree Assault And Armed Criminal Action


At approximately 10:15 p.m., on Friday, February 6, 2015, Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers were called to respond to a residence on Missouri Route KK, southeast of Browning, Missouri, in reference to a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers found a 42-year-old Browning resident suffering from an apparent stab wound. The victim was transported to the University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri, where he was listed in serious, but stable condition.
During the investigation of the incident, a suspect was identified, located at a nearby residence, and subsequently was arrested. Jack L. Rhodes, 32, of Browning, was arrested for first degree assault and armed criminal action. Rhodes was transported to the Chariton County Jail pending the issuance of arrest warrants.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol was assisted by the Linn County Sheriff's Department.
The charges for which the above individual was arrested are mere accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
