EMPHASIS: Results Of Driving While Intoxicated Checkpoint


On August 16, 2008, a sobriety checkpoint was conducted in Buchanan County. A total of 12 troopers were assigned to the four-hour operation.
A total of 6 citations were issued as a result of the checkpoint. This total includes one arrest for driving while intoxicated, two misdemeanor drug arrests, one warrant arrest and two driver’s license violations. There were also ten field sobriety tests given during the operation.
Captain Duane L. Robinson stated, “The sobriety checkpoints continue to be an effective way to remove intoxicated drivers from Missouri’s roadways.”
