EMPHASIS: Selective Traffic Enforcement Operation In Johnson County

Captain Robert L. Powell, commanding officer of Troop A, Lee’s Summit, announces that on December 6, 2008, members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol will conduct a Selective Traffic Enforcement Operation on all major highways in Johnson County.
The goal of this operation is to positively impact traffic problems throughout the county by reducing traffic crashes on all major highways. Troopers will accomplish this goal by strict enforcement of the laws related to the use of alcohol, speed, and seat belt compliance.
Captain Powell stated, “Do your part to keep our roadways safe. Obey the speed limit, pay attention to the job of driving, if you are going to drink, please do not drive, and make sure you and everyone in your vehicle is always properly restrained.”
