EMPHASIS: Troop G Releases Results Of Sobriety Checkpoint

Captain Billy E. Chadwick, commanding officer of Troop G, releases the following information:

A total of 16 arrests and 28 warnings were issued in conjunction with a sobriety checkpoint conducted in Howell County. The checkpoint was held from 8 p.m. to midnight on September 8 at the intersection of U.S. Highway 160 and Missouri Route 101.
These totals include two felony warrant arrests, one other felony arrest, and one misdemeanor drug arrest. Officers also made three driver’s license arrests, two seat belt arrests, and seven non-moving arrests.
“We are pleased that none of the drivers who passed through this checkpoint were found to be in an intoxicated condition,” said Capt. Chadwick. “Please don’t drink and drive, and always exercise the highest degree of care when you get behind the wheel.”
