Patrol Announces Sobriety Checkpoint In Lincoln County
Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer of Troop C, Weldon Spring, announces that a sobriety checkpoint will be held in Lincoln County sometime in the month of September 2016. The Missouri State Highway Patrol in cooperation with other area law enforcement agencies will conduct the sobriety checkpoint.
Sobriety checkpoints are a part of the Patrol’s efforts to remove impaired drivers from Missouri’s highways and are conducted at various locations which have been found to experience a higher than normal number of alcohol-related contacts.
"Driving while intoxicated checkpoints are a great tool in removing the impaired driver from Missouri's highways,” said Captain Johnson. “If you suspect a motorist of driving while intoxicated, call the Missouri State Highway Patrol on the toll-free emergency number 1-800-525-5555 or cellular *55."
The only 100 percent survivable traffic crash is the one that never happens. Make sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Every day as we travel on Missouri’s roadways, we trust that every driver on the road is going to obey the speed limit, pay attention, and drive sober. “
Don’t Violate The Trust
