EMPHASIS: Troop G Releases Results Of Sobriety Checkpoint


Captain Billy E. Chadwick, commanding officer of Troop G, releases the following information:

A total of 21 arrests and 53 warnings were issued in conjunction with a sobriety checkpoint conducted in Wright County. The checkpoint was held from 10 p.m. on June 23, to 2 a.m. on June 24, 2007, at the intersection of Missouri Route 5 and Route B.
These totals include one misdemeanor driving while intoxicated arrest, two misdemeanor drug arrests, and two speed arrests. Officers also made three misdemeanor warrant arrests, four driver’s license arrests, seven seat belt arrests, and two child restraint arrests.
“Intoxicated drivers create a hazard for everyone on the road,” said Capt. Chadwick. “Please don’t drink and drive, and always exercise the highest degree of care when you get behind the wheel.”
