EMPHASIS: April Enforcement Projects Scheduled For Troop D

Captain Juan Villanueva, commanding officer of Troop D, Springfield, announces that sometime during the month of April, Troop D will conduct a sobriety checkpoint and a hazardous moving violation saturation. The sobriety checkpoint will be held in Newton County, and the hazardous moving violation saturation will be conducted in Greene County.

In addition, troopers will be joining statewide efforts with other law enforcement agencies on April 15, 2013, for a "Click It Or Ticket" seat belt enforcement mobilization project. The Patrol will continue its zero tolerance policy regarding the use of seat belts and child restraints in a concentrated effort to get more motorists to buckle up. Preliminary 2012 statistics show 64 percent of individuals killed in Missouri traffic crashes were unrestrained.

The Patrol encourages motorists and watercraft operators to protect themselves by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restrain and everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life and Wear It!!!
