EMPHASIS: Troop H Announces July Fourth Holiday Projects

Captain Duane L. Robinson, commanding officer of Troop H, St. Joseph, announces Troop H will participate in the 20-Mile Trooper program and C.A.R.E. (Combined Accident Reduction Effort) during the July Fourth holiday period.
Troopers will be patrolling Interstate 35 in 20-mile segments during the holiday weekend on July 3, 2013, and July 7, 2013. The goal of the program is to reduce crashes by enforcing traffic laws and being visible to the motoring public. Troop H also has designated U.S. highways 36, 59, 65, 71, 136, and 169 as C.A.R.E. highways. Troopers will patrol these highways during the holiday period, enforcing traffic laws, helping motorists, and being visible.
Captain Duane L. Robinson stated, "If you travel over the holiday, make sure everyone is buckled up and never drink and drive. If your plans include the water, be sure to wear an approved life jacket and never operate a vessel while intoxicated."
