EMPHASIS: S.T.E.P Operation In Ray County
Captain Robert L. Powell, commanding officer of Troop A, Lee’s Summit, announces that on June 12, 2009, members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol will conduct a Selective Traffic Enforcement Operation on all major highways in Ray County.
The goal of the operation is to positively impact traffic problems throughout the county by reducing traffic crashes on all major highways. Troopers will accomplish this goal by strict enforcement of the laws related to the use of alcohol, speed, hazardous moving violations, and seat belt compliance.
Captain Powell stated, “ Remember to do your part to make our roadways safer. Pay attention to the job of driving, obey the speed limit, if you are going to drink, do not drive, and make sure you and everyone in your vehicle is properly buckled up.”
