EMPHASIS: Results Of DWI Saturation Conducted In Monroe And Ralls Counties


Captain James E. Wilt, commanding officer of Troop B, Macon, announces the results of a DWI (driving while intoxicated) saturation conducted in Monroe and Ralls counties. The saturation began at 11 p.m., on April 27, 2013, and concluded at 3 a.m. on April 28, 2013. During this enforcement operation, officers patrolled specific areas with a goal of detecting impaired drivers and other traffic violations that contribute to traffic crashes. As a result of the operation, officers made 11 arrests and issued 24 warnings. The following is a list of enforcement contacts made during the saturation:

1 -- Arrest for driving while intoxicated
3 -- Citations issued for seat belt violations
1 -- Citation issued for a child restraint violation
1 -- Citation issued for a non-moving violation
1 -- Citation issued for a hazardous moving violation
2 -- Citations issued for license violations
2 -- Citations issued for insurance violations

"The Patrol will conduct more traffic enforcement programs in the upcoming months," stated Captain Wilt. "The Missouri State Highway Patrol is very serious about removing the impaired driver from our roadways. If drinking is a part of your plans, choose a sober designated driver."
The Patrol encourages motorists and watercraft operators to protect themselves by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint and everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life and Wear It!!!
