EMPHASIS: Troop G Releases Independence Day Holiday Totals

Captain Mark G. Inman, commanding officer, Troop G, Willow Springs, announces the following traffic totals for the Independence Day holiday period. Troop G troopers participated in Operation C.A.R.E. (Combined Accident Reduction Effort) from Thursday, July 3, 2014, through Sunday, July 6, 2014.
Troop G reported zero fatal traffic crashes, and investigated 24 traffic crashes on C.A.R.E. designated highways, resulting in seven injuries. Troopers made nine DWI arrests and 30 drug arrests, issued 323 speed summonses, 202 safety belt summonses, and three child restraint summonses, and had 223 calls for service in Troop G over the course of the weekend.
Troop G troopers working on U.S. Highway 60 also participated in the 20-Mile Trooper project. Troopers assigned to this operation worked 12-hour shifts to patrol 20-mile intervals on major highways and interstates in Missouri on Thursday, July 3, 2014, and Sunday, July 6, 2014. There were zero fatal traffic crashes on highways covered by the 20-Mile Trooper project. Totals from this operation include:

122-- speed summonses
33-- seat belt summonses
1-- other hazardous moving vehicle summons
20-- nonmoving summonses
3-- driver’s license summonses
10-- uninsured motorist summonses
1-- misdemeanor warrant arrest
4-- stop sign summonses
134 -- warnings

Captain Inman says, “I am very pleased that no one lost their life on the roadways in Troop G this Independence Day. Our troopers work very hard to keep the motoring public safe. Please do your part by resolving to be a safe driver.”

In support of “The Drive To ZERO Highway Deaths,” the Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Watercraft operators should ensure that everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life And Wear It!!
