EMPHASIS: Results For "Click It Or Ticket" Campaign In Pike County

Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer of Troop C, Weldon Spring, announces the result of a "Click It Or Ticket" campaign conducted on March 29, 2013, in Pike County. The primary goal was to reduce the number of injury and fatal crashes through the aggressive enforcement of traffic laws to include zero tolerance policy to ensure seat belt compliance and the utilization of child restraint systems. During the four-hour operation, three officers stopped 61 vehicles, and issued 49 summonses and 35 warnings.

Speed -- 30 summonses
Seat Belt -- 15 summonses
Hazardous Moving -- 1 summons
Uninsured Motorists -- 1 summons
Nonmoving Traffic Violations -- 2 summonses

Local motorists should be prepared for stepped up Click It Or Ticket enforcement,” said Captain Johnson. “We’ll be out there to remind you seat belts can – and do – save lives.”
