EMPHASIS: Patrol's Investigation Leads To Draper Richardson's Arrest
On March 18, 2008, at approximately 3:00 p.m. Officers from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Chillicothe Police Department, Livingston County Sheriff’s Department, Daviess County Sheriff’s Department, the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation received information that Draper Richardson was at a residence in Jamesport, MO. Officers set up a perimeter around the residence located at 208 North Grant. The Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team was activated to try and secure the suspect. At approximately 8:00 p.m. the SWAT team located Draper Richardson hiding in a shed just outside the residence. He was arrested without incident and transported to the Livingston County Jail, where he is charged with two counts of first-degree robbery, first-degree assault, armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a weapon. His bond is set at $ 1,000,000.
Law enforcement agencies began collecting information on Draper Richardson shortly after the armed robbery and pursuit ended on March 16, 2008, in northwest Livingston County. The collective intelligence, along with tips from the public and other information supplied by the Federal Bureau Investigation and the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms, led the officers to his location.
The charges for which the individual has been arrested are mere accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
