EMPHASIS: Results Of Troop I DWI Saturation


Captain Randy L. Becker, commanding officer of Troop I, announces the results of a DWI saturation patrol conducted in Pulaski County. The enforcement operation began at 7 p.m. on December 29, 2007, and ended at 3 a.m., December 30, 2007. Troopers assigned to the saturation stopped 35 vehicles and made two arrests for driving while intoxicated. Troopers also issued five citations for speeding, one for failure to drive on right half of roadway, two for failure to wear a seatbelt, one for failure to yield, and two for a driver’s license violations.
Captain Becker stated, “During the 2008 New Year’s holiday counting period, there were no traffic fatalities in the six county Troop I area. Through special enforcement operations such as this, the Patrol will strive to keep this trend continuing in 2008 by removing the impaired driver from our highways.”
