EMPHASIS: Operation P.R.O.T.E.C.T Results


Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer of Troop C, St. Louis, is pleased to announce the results of the OPERATION P.R.O.T.E.C.T project that was conducted on April 7, 2008, in St. Louis County on Interstate 170 and Interstate 64. During the five-hour enforcement project, 10 troopers focused their attention on violations that occurred in the construction/work zones, in an effort to reduce the number and severity of traffic crashes.
As a result of the enforcement program, a total of 70 arrests were made and 104 warnings were issued. Of those arrests, 38 individuals were cited for speeding, 15 for no seat belt and six for driver’s license violations. In addition to the moving violation arrests, three individuals were arrested on outstanding warrants. During the five-hour operation 91 vehicles were stopped for various violations.
