EMPHASIS: Troop I Announces DWI Saturation

Captain James W. Remillard, commanding officer of Troop I, announces that sometime during the month of October, troopers assigned to Troop I will be involved in a special enforcement operation specifically targeting those drivers who are operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. During this operation, troopers will patrol those highways in Laclede County, where statistics have shown a larger number of crashes and arrests have occurred in the past involving impaired drivers.
“Too many people are seriously injured or killed on Missouri’s streets and highways every year by drunk drivers,” said Captain Remillard. “I hope that these saturation patrols may serve as another important tool in fighting this serious problem.”
In support of “The Drive To Zero Highway Deaths,” the Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Watercraft operators should ensure that everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life And Wear It!!
