EMPHASIS: Results Of DWI Checkpoint In Jackson County On July 27, 2012

Captain Robert L. Powell, commanding officer of Troop A, announces the results of a sobriety checkpoint conducted on Friday evening, July 27, 2012. The checkpoint was a joint effort with the Kansas City Police Department and Jackson County Sheriff's Department. The checkpoint was held from 11 p.m. on Friday to
4 a.m. on Saturday and was located at Southwest Trafficway at 39th Street. The location was determined by past arrests, incidents, and traffic crashes in the county.

A total of 660 vehicles were stopped during this operation and members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Jackson County Sheriff's Department and the Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department made the following arrests:

25 -- DWI
1 -- driving while revoked violation
2 -- seat belt violations
2 -- hazardous moving violations
2 -- non-hazardous violations
3 -- misdemeanor drug arrests
12 -- misdemeanor warrant arrests
42 -- warnings issued
