EMPHASIS: Patrol Announces Results Of Commercial Motor Vehicle Enforcement Program



Captain Ronald S. Johnson, commanding officer of Troop C, Weldon Spring, announces the results of SAFETE, an enforcement program focusing on violations of commercial motor vehicles. SAFETE was conducted on October 23, 2013, in Franklin County. During the project, five troopers focused their enforcement activity on hazardous operations of commercial motor vehicles to ensure these vehicles and drivers are operating safely on the nation's highways.

As a result of the enforcement program, the following summonses were issued:
Speed -- 3 summonses
Non Moving Violations -- 4 summonses
Commercial Vehicle Violations -- 3 summonses
Hazardous Moving Violations -- 1 summons
Vehicles Placed Out-of-Service -- 2
Commercial Vehicles Inspected -- 10
Warnings -- 40


Captain Johnson stated, “Enforcement of commercial motor vehicle violations is critical to the safety of the motoring public. Please assist us in our efforts by reporting careless drivers and other suspicious activities on Missouri’s roadways by calling 9-1-1 or *55.”

The Patrol encourages motorists and watercraft operators to protect themselves by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint and everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life and Wear It!!!
