EMPHASIS: Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (S.T.E.P.) Operations In May 2009
Captain Robert L. Powell, commanding officer of Troop A, Lee’s Summit, announces Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (S.T.E.P.) Operations will be conducted sometime during the month of May in Clay, Lafayette, and Jackson counties.
Members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol will saturate all major routes in the counties of the operations. The operations will concentrate on strict enforcement of the laws related to the use of alcohol, speed, seat belt compliance, hazardous moving violations, and Move Over violations.
Captain Powell stated, “Our goal is to make the roadways safer for the motoring public by concentrating enforcement efforts on violations that cause crashes and place other motorists in danger.”
