EMPHASIS: Ten Mile Trooper Results, Troop D.


Captain Juan Villanueva, commanding officer of Troop D, Springfield, MO, announces the results of a two-day enforcement operation in Troop D. The 10-Mile trooper operation was conducted on Interstate 44 and eastbound U.S. Highway 60 from Springfield on May 22, 2009 and May 25, 2009.

The following are the totals from the program:

Speed (trucks) -- 7
Speed (cars) -- 129
Seat belt -- 49
Careless and Imprudent -- 1
Child restraint -- 8
Following too close -- 4
Other hazardous motor vehicle -- 5
Non-moving -- 26
Driver’s license -- 8
Uninsured Motorist -- 8
Misdemeanor warrant -- 4
Other misdemeanor offense -- 1
Total Arrests -- 253
Total Warnings -- 276

Captain Villanueva states, “The 10-Mile Trooper project proved successful because of dedicated troopers enforcing traffic laws and providing assistance to stranded motorists over the busy Memorial Day holiday.”
