EMPHASIS: Colonel Ron Replogle Announces Promotion

Colonel Ron Replogle, superintendent of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, announces the following promotion effective April 1, 2014:

Captain Duane L. Robinson is being promoted to the rank of major and transferring to General Headquarters, Jefferson City, MO, where he will serve as the commander of the Support Service Bureau.

Robinson was appointed to the Patrol on July 1, 1987, as a member of the 59th Recruit Class. Upon completing his training at the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop B, Zone 4, Putnam and Sullivan counties. On May 1, 1990, he transferred to Troop B, Zone 1, Macon and Shelby counties. He was promoted to corporal and designated assistant zone commander of Zone 1 on September 1, 1994. Robinson was promoted to sergeant on January 1, 1996, and designated zone supervisor of Zone 2, Macon and Shelby counties. On February 1, 2001, he was promoted to lieutenant and assigned to Troop I, Rolla, MO. Robinson was promoted to captain and designated commanding officer of Troop H, St. Joseph, MO, on July 1, 2007.

Major Robinson was born in St. Louis, MO. He graduated from Hannibal High School in Hannibal, in 1977. He served in the U.S. Air Force from March 1978 to March 1982. Prior to joining the Patrol, he served as a police officer with the Hannibal Police Department, in Hannibal, MO. He graduated from the Federal Bureau of Investigation's National Academy at Quantico, VA, in 2004. Major Robinson and his wife, Melody (Thompson), have three grown children: Shannon, Joshua, and Whitney. They also have two granddaughters.
