EMPHASIS: Area Students Participate In Student Alliance Program

Captain Gregory D. Kindle, commanding officer, Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop F, announces that Troop F has completed its 2014 Student Alliance Program. The six-week program ran from March 6, 2014, through April 10, 2014, and consisted of 23 participants who represented 14 area high schools and one university.
The goal of the Student Alliance Program is to give students who may be considering a career in law enforcement a unique experience while being introduced to the duties of the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Some of the programs presented included the history of the Patrol, radar, search and seizure, polygraph, firing range, driving while impaired, crime scene collection, and criminal investigations. Demonstrations by marine operations, Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), K-9, and a ride on the Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) highlighted the program. The final night consisted of dinner with the current recruit class and the presentation of certificates.
Troop F conducts the Student Alliance Program on a biennial basis. If a high school junior, senior, or anyone enrolled in college is interested in the program, they can obtain information from their high school counselor or by contacting Sgt. Paul J. Reinsch at 573-751-1000. The next program is scheduled for the fall 2016.
In support of "The Drive To ZERO Highway Deaths," the Patrol encourages motorists to protect themselves and their passengers by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint. Watercraft operators should ensure that everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life And Wear It!!
