EMPHASIS: New Troopers Assigned To Troop I


Captain Lee Ann H. Kenley, commanding officer of Troop I, announces the assignment of four new troopers to Troop I.
The newly assigned troopers were members of the 95th Recruit Class, which began training on April 2, 2012, at the Missouri State Highway Patrol Law Enforcement Academy in Jefferson City, and graduated on September 21, 2012. The troopers reported to duty at Troop I Headquarters in Rolla, on October 9, 2012, and will continue their training under the guidance of their field training officers.
Trooper Kellen D. Rapier has been assigned to Zone 1, which patrols Phelps and eastern Maries counties. He is a native of Rolla, Missouri, and a 2003 graduate of Rolla High School. Rapier has also earned both a bachelor's of science degree and master's of science degree in criminal justice from the University of Central Missouri. Prior to his appointment, he was employed by Fastenal. Trooper Rapier is married to Ashley (Hart). Trooper Matt A. Goodson will serve as his field training officer.
Trooper Jeffery S. Cunningham has been assigned to Zone 4, which patrols Pulaski and Western Maries counties. He is a native of Willow Springs, Missouri, and a 2003 graduate of Willow Springs High School. Cunningham has earned an associate's of arts degree in general studies from Missouri State University. Prior to his appointment, he was employed by Coastal Energy Corporation. Trooper Cunningham is married to Jessica (Smith) and they have one child. Corporal Steven H. Crabtree will serve as his field training officer.
Trooper Jeffrey A. Ice has been assigned to Zone 8, which patrols Laclede County. He is a native of Mountain Grove, Missouri, and a 2000 graduate of Mountain Grove High School. Ice has also earned an associate's of arts degree in criminal justice from the University of Phoenix. Prior to his appointment, he was employed as a corrections officer for the Missouri Department of Corrections. Trooper Ice is married to Debbie (Malatia) and they have two children. Corporal Jason E. Riggs will serve as his field training officer.
Trooper Colby W. Tierney has been assigned to Zone 9, Crawford County. He is native of Sullivan and a 2001 graduate of Sullivan High School. Tierney served in the U.S. Air Force from 2001 to 2005, where he earned the rank of E-4. Prior to his appointment, he was employed by Ace Manufacturing. Trooper Tierney is married to Heather (Ijames) and they have five children. Trooper Joshua J. McDonald will serve as his field training officer.
