EMPHASIS: Troop E Announces Hazardous Moving Operation And DWI Checkpoint

Captain George E. Ridens, commanding officer of Troop E, Poplar Bluff, Missouri, announces that sometime during the month of December 2013, Troop E officers will conduct a sobriety checkpoint and a hazardous moving vehicle operation. The sobriety checkpoint will be in Butler County, and the hazardous moving vehicle operation will be held throughout the Troop E area. The operation will be conducted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol in cooperation with local law enforcement agencies.

The checkpoint is a static operation on a specific highway that is designed to check every driver to ensure they are sober. The hazardous moving operation is designed to target vehicles that are being operated in a hazardous manner.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol encourages motorists and watercraft operators to protect themselves by making sure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained in a seat belt or child restraint and everyone in the vessel is wearing an approved life jacket. Click It 4 Life and Wear It!!!
