EMPHASIS: Seven New Troopers Assigned To Troop A


Captain Robert L. Powell, commanding officer of Troop A, Lee’s Summit, is pleased to announce the assignment of seven new troopers to Troop A. The new troopers are members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol's 97th Recruit Class that graduated from the Patrol Academy on December 20, 2013. The new troopers reported for duty on January 6, 2014.

Trooper Justin C. Ewing, a native of Springfield, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 11, which serves the citizens of Platte County. Trooper Ewing graduated from Kickapoo High School in Springfield, Missouri. He holds a bachelor's of science degree in criminal justice and psychology from Southwest Baptist University.

Trooper Aaron M. Jeffreys, a native of Walnut Grove, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 13, which serves the citizens of Pettis County. Trooper Jeffreys graduated from Walnut Grove High School in Walnut Grove, Missouri. Trooper Jeffreys earned an associate’s degree while attending Ozarks Technical Community College, in Springfield, Missouri.

Trooper Bryan W. Montgomery, a native of Oak Grove, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 7, which serves the citizens of Jackson County. Trooper Montgomery graduated from Oak Grove High School in Oak Grove, Missouri. Trooper Montgomery earned an associate’s degree while attending Blue River Community College in Independence, Missouri.

Trooper Eric C. Rodenberg, a native of Richmond, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 6, which serves the citizens of Jackson County. Trooper Rodenberg graduated from Orrick High School in Orrick, Missouri. He holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg, Missouri. Trooper Rodenberg is the son of Missouri State Highway Patrol Sergeant Norman Rodenberg and nephew of Missouri State Highway Patrol Sergeant Gilbert Rodenberg.

Trooper Matthew G. Yendes, a native of Republic, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 15, which serves the citizens of Henry County. Trooper Yendes graduated from Republic High School in Republic, Missouri. Trooper Yendes earned an associate’s degree while attending Ozark’s Technical Community College, in Springfield, Missouri.

Trooper Shon E. Dodson, a native of St. Robert, Missouri, has been assigned to Zone 10, which serves the citizens of Saline County. Prior to joining the Patrol, Trooper Dodson served in the United States Army as a military police officer. Trooper Dodson earned a bachelor's of science degree in general studies from Drury University, in Springfield, Missouri. Trooper Dodson, and his wife Angela, have three children.

Trooper Taggart L. Holston, a native of Denver, Colorado, has been assigned to Zone 10, which serves the citizens of Saline County. Trooper Holston graduated from Byron Syring DELTA Center, in Monte Vista, Colorado. Trooper Holston holds a bachelor’s degree in English writing and psychology from Metropolitan State University of Denver in Denver, Colorado.
